Sensori FM has been shortlisted as a finalist for their Custom House Visitors Centre in the ‘Renovation Project’ Category.
For more than 200 years Dublin Custom House has been one of Dublin’s most iconic landmark buildings. It is one of the most photographed and best loved buildings in the capital. It is also the longest-serving purpose-built government administrative building in Ireland.
In 1921 the building was gutted by fire following an attack in one of the key events of the Irish War of Independence. In preparation of the centenary anniversary of the burning of the Custom House in 1921, the Custom House Visitor Centre, was renovated by Sensori FM on behalf of and in collaboration with our client the Office of Public Works. Notwithstanding Covid and Brexit challenges the project was delivered by September 2021, with the Visitor Centre opening in November 2021 to the public enabling the space to be experienced by the public once again as part of the Decade of Centenaries.
